A message from the guide

I am officially starting my campaign to promote some of the Balkans most incredible trails! For the first time ever, I will be taking a group of 10 plus tourists through the mountains of Kosovo, Montenegro and Albania for a 10 day trrip.
I have chosen a spectacular trail through the Accursed mountains. The trail follows part of the rout planned in Peaks of the Balkans, but I have customised the route in order to give a lucky few the very best experience that these unique mountains have to offer. The trail is around 100 km through some of the most incredible scenery; any visitor is sure to fall in love with the area, which has been covered extensively in he international media, including in the Financial Times.

I am working with Balkan Natural Adventure, who will take care of all logistics and arrangements. They have organised the rip for the Financial Times and are best rated outdoor company in tripadvisor in Kosovo. I have found them a great partner to work with.

We will start in Kosovo hiking through glacial lakes and crossing to Montenegro, through shepherd villages and open views of mountains. From there we will walk in the midst of military bunkers, to get to Theth, the most picturesque village of Albania. There we will spend two nights before we continue to approach Gashi valley, a UNESCO protected primeval woods. To finish the trip we will the climb Gjeravica, the highest mountain in Kosovo.

About me: Arineta Mula

Arineta was member of the first Kosovar team to climb Mount Everest, and the first person from Kosovo and Albania to climb Ama Dablam. She has scaled numerous other challenging peaks, including Matterhorn and Eiger in Switzerland being the first albanian woman to climb them successfully. She is dedicated to the promotion of nature and women’s engagement in the Balkans. She will lead just one or two promotional hikes a year, which also aim to train and develop other women guides. This is her first Peaks of the Balkans Tour.
